WARNING on position angles

The computed position angle (column named errPosAng) is defined as being north-of-east instead of east-of-north in particular catalogues.

• List of affected catalogues (for those catalogues, the correct position angle is ):

  • Gaia DR2 (I/345/gaia2) and Gaia DR2 Epoch 2015.5. Note that the original error columns are provided in the output.

  • SDSS DR7 (II/294/sdss7)

• List of catalogues that were affected and have already been fixed:

  • AllWISE (II/328/allwise) before 16/02/2021 (see §).

  • Gaia EDR3 (I/350/gaiaedr3) and Gaia EDR3 Epoch 2016 before 29/01/2021 (see §)

  • Add more significant digits to the elliptical error: the formats of the errHalfMaj, errHalfMin, errPosAng columns is now %.7f, %.7f, %.2f instead of %.3f, %.3f, %.0f

  • Add columns phot_bp_rp_excess_factor and phot_bp_rp_excess_factor_corrected

• Gaia EDR3 Epoch 2016:

  • Fix the position angle issue, see

  • Add more significant digits to the elliptical error: the formats of the errHalfMaj, errHalfMin, errPosAng columns is now %.7f, %.7f, %.2f instead of %.3f, %.3f, %.0f

  • Add columns phot_bp_rp_excess_factor and phot_bp_rp_excess_factor_corrected

  • Fix the error ellipse (in arcsececonds) which was built from and instead of and .

  • Fix misleading names: the ra_epoch2000, ra_epoch2000_error, dec_epoch2000, dec_epoch2000_error columns were unproperly renamed ra, ra_error, dec, dec_error, leading to duplicated ra and dec column names, and missleading the interpretation of these columns

• Add CatWISE2020 (II/365/catwise)

  • Cross-matches are based on the “stationary” positions RAdeg, DEdeg.

  • Position RAdeg, DEdeg and proper motions pmRA, pmDE have been corrected according to CatWISE2020_Table1_20201012.tbl
